Legal Services Commission

Legal Services Commission

The Commission is responsible, on behalf of the Government, for two schemes: the Community Legal Service (CLS) through which it funds the delivery of civil legal and advice services; and the Criminal Defence Service (CDS) through which it funds defence services for people involved in criminal investigations or proceedings.

Why might I contact the LSC?

There is information on how to identify Quality Marked solicitors in your area to help you get value for money.

Through their ‘community legal service’ they can help people find accredited solicitors to deal with Immigration & Asylum issues, if they eligible for Legal Aid.
