Prisons and Probation Ombudsman (PPO)
The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman is appointed by the Home Secretary, and is an independent point of appeal for prisoners and those supervised by the Probation Service. It will take appeals from offenders and ex-offenders who are not satisfied with the handling of a complaint by the Prison Service, a prison or the National Probation Service.
