The National Health Service

The NHS is the largest organisation in Europe. Its management is now structured into Strategic Health Authorities which have responsibility for organising, monitoring and improving health services in their area. Health Authorities sets the strategic framework for Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) and NHS Trusts, and monitor their performance against agreed objectives. There is one SHA for London.
