The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA)
A non-departmental public body that funds new affordable housing in England. This Agency was established by the Housing and Regeneration Act 2008 as one of the successor bodies to the Housing Corporation. It has an annual investment budget of more than £5bn. The HCA is governed by a Board of 11 members, appointed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. The Board determines the strategic direction of the Agency.
